Reserves 1 - 1 Spurs Reserves
|
The Big Boys were in attendance at Selhurst Park
for this match (see below pictures) so the reserves would have to
put on a better performance than last week's lacklustre 5 nil defeat
to Southampton. The team was pretty much the same, but for one change
on the right hand side of midfield... wlecome back Simon
Davies.
The game ended in a draw, and Palace can feel
a little hard done by that they didn't take all three points. Palace,
at times, played some nice slick football and had two dangerous
looking youngsters in Midfield who were full of running and had
good feet.

Spurs went one nil up through
a penalty, which our new boys earnt in the 57th minute. Hallfredsson
playing a perfectly angled lofted pass in behind the Palace
right back, for Limbersky to run on to and fall over like
a girl and some how get awarded a penalty (remeniscent of
Chelsea at the weekend - it all evens out hey?).
It was good to see Simon Davies again,
having recovered from his mysterious "energy sapping
virus". He looked pretty lively, and willing to run at
people, and unless we make a signing in the Jan window he'll
stroll back in to the team (energy levels dependent).
Steven Kelly impressed at right back, and
surely Jol must be able to see that he is far supierior to
Pamarot. Kelly is fast, strong(ish) and more significantly
confident and able on the ball with a willingness to push
forward. |

Of the newbies the stocky ginger nut
Emil Hallfredsson shone. Strong and composed in the centre
of midfield, and handy from set pieces too. He didn't waste
the ball and battled hard in the middle. Limbersky looked
thoroughly unimpressive again. Light weight, with no particular
signs of pace or skill.
Ian Dowie was also in attendance, and I'm
sure Jol and Arnesen would have gone for a little drink with
him and brother Bob Dowie (director of football at Palace)
after the game. Talking telephone numbers and Routledge perhaps?

Fact fans: Martin Jol smokes, Frank Arnesen
wears Burberry, Ronnie Rosenthal is now a slimy players agent and
Ian Dowie's brother Bob is equally as ugly as he is.
